Kiev Ukraine

Kiev.
City with a golden heart.
Kiev sightseeing and attractions
Whenever you first come to Kiev it will make you fall in love with itself immediately. There are definitely plenty of things to discover in the capital of Ukraine.
Independence square
Your first holiday to Ukraine and visit to Kiev should start from Independence square (ua: Maidan Nezalezhnosti or just "Majdan") - the main place and platz of the Kiev downtown, and Independence monument.

Mariinski Park
If it’s your first time here I would recommend having a stroll in the beautiful Mariinski Park from where the picturesque view of the whole city and the great Dnipro opens to your eyes. There you can enjoy the quietness of mighty trees and endless green meadows.

Lover’s bridge
On your way along the park you will cross a high-located cozy Lover’s bridge which for many years attracts the lovers of all age to prove their love with a hanging a lock.

Lavra (Cave monastery).
The next worth seeing spot is just meters away. It is of course the most famous church in Kiev, it’s golden heart – the Lavra (Cave monastery). First thing you’ll see looking at is its shining golden cupolas.
This treasure of an ancient Kiev Rus is still full of mysteries. Walking inside you will be surprised with a beauty of its churches and the holy atmosphere which will make you feel peaceful and blessed.

Podol
After you shouldn’t miss Kiev’s oldest and in my point of view the loveliest district – Podol.  This area is one of the favorite for many Kievans.  No wonder why. With its elegance and simplicity at the same time, full of nice bars and restaurants. Here you can enjoy a romantic dinner or a business lunch or just meet with a couple of friends after a busy day.

Boat trip (1,5 hour)
The embankment of Dnipro is a beautiful place to have a walk and observe variety of ships moving along this wide and charming river. If you are ready for more, then joining one of a touristic ships starting their tour from the river-port hourly. It is right what you need. From the board you will be able to enjoy wonderful panoramas of Kiev’s hills, it’s churches and other impressive buildings.

Funicular , St Michael’s Cathedral, St.Andrew decent (souvenirs)
When your tour is over, go just a few steps forward to Poshtova Ploshcha (Post Square) and from there take a lovely Funicular (public transport tram) which brings you right on top of the hill, to Vladimirska Gorka Park. Up above you will find the bright and amazing St. Michael’s Cathedral and to the right side – St.Andrewsdecent (the souvenirs street).
For sure, to discover all Kiev’s attractions takes several days or maybe even a week. These are my favorite places. But you will definitely find your own special spots where you’ll go back again and again.
War museum
The complex of War museum officially opened on 9 May 1981 as a Museum of the 2-nd World War of 1941-1945.  The most of all exhibits and museum are dedicated to the Soviet-German front, large-scale battles of the Great Patriotic War, the establishment and operation of the anti-Hitler coalition. A lot of military machines, artifacts are presented in 16 indoor exhibition halls. And the outdoor exhibition takes around 10 acres.
